Awesome Meal Ideas

It’s a new year and so the trend is to make resolutions and hopefully stick with them. I have been skimming  though blogs here on wordpress and have scene that a few of you are wanting to go the vegan route this year… of course one of the main criteria you have while going vegan is that the recipes must be quick and easy… Well depending on how much flavor and pazazz you want to put into your dishes, time to make meals can widely vary. Here I have put together a brief list of food combinations that you can go to for a quick meal that requires minimal time and skill. I do encourage everyone to take some time each week to try one of my recipes on this site as they are not too difficult and are worth putting in a little effort.

Breakfasts

  • Quick oats topped with frozen berries and vanilla soymilk
  • Steel cut oats cooked in chia tea water topped with cinnamon, chopped walnuts, diced apple and almond milk
  • Cooked amaranth topped with granola (https://sweetsmartsexyvegan.wordpress.com/2013/01/02/granola/) and soymilk
  • Kamute topped with diced pears, cinnamon, raisins and soynog (or soymilk)
  • Oat groats (soaked in water for 24 hours) topped with fresh and frozen fruits and rice milk

Lunches

  • Pita and hummus with sliced veggies
  • Grilled cheese ( bread and daiya vegan cheese) and a salad with balsamic vinegar and flax oil
  • Steamed rice and steamed kale topped with soy sauce and hot sauce

Dinners

  • Rice pasta or whole wheat pasta with canned marinara sauce and grilled tofu
  • Steamed rice and steamed kale topped with soy sauce and hot sauce
  • Pan Fried flavored tempeh, steamed kale and couscous cooked with vegetable broth
  • Vegetable soup (diced veggies (potatoes, carrots, leek, cabbage, mushrooms)) made with vegetable broth

As one of my goals this year is to make 100 new recipes, I will not only post those but hopefully weekly meal plans that incorporate those recipes as well as simple meals. Keep a look out for those as I will try and post them every Sunday.
